Lupe – Helps Fund

We would like to thank everyone who donated towards the hernia operation for Lupe.  The national hospitals here are not the best, and because of your generous donations we were able to place her in a private hospital and have the operation done very quickly. Lupe has now fully recovered and both she and her mother are extremely grateful for the help they received.  The extra funds will be kept for further emergencies.  God bless you all.

Feeding Programme.

Many of you will have seen on international television the crisis caused in this country because most of the crops were ruined though lack of rain.   This has caused widespread hunger, malnutrition and rising prices for the staple food of corn and all derived products.   This emergency situation has even spread to our town of Ciudad Vieja, and our two new missionaries, Simon and Sarah Hogg from the UK, have felt led to start a feeding program.   The vision is firstly to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them (games, coloring, bible stories and prayer) and then give them a hearty meal afterwards.    The first two times they met the number of children already more than doubled, and Christa along with some of our church members have been a welcome help in the programme.   What limits the growth of the programme at the moment are funds and the space as it is held in Simon and Sarah’s garage at home.   If you want to help with this programme, please send your donations marked “Cornerstone.”

Visit from the USA

Some old friends of us, Pastor Jim and Sharon Singleton recently visited our church and spent a few days lifting ministering to our leaders, cell leaders and church members as well as to us.    They were a real blessing and we are very grateful to them.  Come back soon!
