Many of you have read about the flooding disaster that has hit Pakistan, killing thousands and making even more homeless. I thought we had suffered badly when Hurricane Agatha hit our town here in Guatemala, but this has been nothing compared to the suffering going on right now in Pakistan.  I cannot sit back idly and do nothing, especially when I saw how you our supporters came quickly to our aid and we are forever grateful to you all.  Pastor  Shahid M Paul – a brother in Christ and is unofficially an “adopted son” of ours, has been pastoring a growing church and evangelizing  among the Nations of Pakistan for many years and has been struggling to build a church building, despite his life being threatened on many occasions, and yet  he continues to share Jesus Christ.

Now flooding has covered the country and both Paul and his beautiful wife Sumaira are doing what they can to help the families, Moslems and Christians alike that have lost everything.     I am asking you once again to reach deep into your pockets to help this wonderful pastor.

CIUDAD VIEJA – THE REBUILD

My heart was heavy as I surveyed the damage left in the trail of Hurricane Agatha, women and children, weeping loud in the streets, some using their hands to search in the tons of mud and debris, to look for their loved ones.  Christa and I knew that for the next few weeks we would be heavily involved in helping these already poor people.  The devastation was incredible, but we put it all into the Lord’s hands.

Many of you immediately reacted to our call for help in the means of finances.  Brad Thurston, our Globe Europe Missions Director, immediately wired a large donation to cover immediate help towards the families in our church who, in just a few seconds, lost their houses and worldly possessions.  We were able to give them food, clothes and blankets.  Many of them spent a few nights in our church building, where other members helped to make them comfortable.  We were also able to help many of the local community with food, water and blankets.  Your generosity has helped us to rebuild 4 houses and 3 are in the process of being completed.  The next phase is to buy new furniture, beds, bedding and clothes.    We are not quite there with all the funds needed, so if you would like to help, please send what you can, large or small, to the address below marked “Disaster.”    Many of the locals have asked us to pass on their thanks to all of you.  You answered the call – May the Lord bless you all.   See photographs below.

PEOPLE BUILDING PEOPLE

Normally this group of wonderful Christian brothers and sisters from various churches in the USA visit us each year in August and construct ONE house!  The directors John and Sue Gadsby of People Building People, both felt led by God LAST YEAR to come this year in July.   The timing could not have been more perfect and we know it was a God appointment. Because of the damage caused by Hurricane Agatha, a team of 27 were able to help construct 2 houses and demolish another and at the same time run a medical campaign where over 600 people were seen in 5 days. 

They also ran a children’s bible school where many children came excitedly every day. In the second week a small but powerful evangelistic team shared the Gospel and there were 156, yes 156 salvations!  I am so excited, I write it again – one hundred and fifty six people received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! The healings were too numerous to mention, but one young deaf girl had her hearing restored!    We are taking this town for Christ!  We are so grateful to both John and Sue Gadsby and the whole gang who came with them.

WELCOME TO OUR TEAM

We welcome the Bedford Family to Final Harvest Ministries.  It has been our prayer for some time now to bring more people into our team as we believe there is going to be an almighty revival in our town.   The church is on fire as our people along with us hunger and thirst for more of God.   The Lord has partly answered our prayers by adding Joe and Karen and their 3 children; Samuel (Sam), Sara and Joshua.  They have been Globe Europe missionaries for the past 6 years in Peru and immediately threw themselves into the hurricane relief work without even unpacking their boxes in their new home!  I have been more than impressed to see Joe and Karen working with the children (and actually keeping over 100 of them quiet), Sara wanting to join our dance worship team, and Sam helping to build houses – his strength was amazing!  And Joshua… this young man is a budding David!  He got involved in everything.  Of course – there is room for more missionaries! MAYDEE – MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN!

Many of you are already aware that Maydee who dances in our worship team lost her mother and niece as well as her house in Hurricane Agatha.  Maydee’s father, whom through your financial help, has rebuilt a new home just on the outskirts of our town, but high up a hill.  Maydee was helping to carry some concrete blocks up the hill when she slipped and badly damaged her arm.  The following Sunday I had been sharing the Word in church and that Jesus still heals today when Maydee came excitedly up to me at the end of the service, and in tears, tore the bandage off her arm to show me that she had been miraculously healed in an instant.   All traces of cuts and bruising had disappeared.   The Lord is still on His Throne – He has not abdicated!  See photos.

ECO-FILTERS

Last year as the People Building People were team were here, I shared with the director, John Gadsby, about 10 Eco-filters I had given out to various families in the church and the great success we had, as the health of these people had changed dramatically because of receiving clean water.  John caught the vision and told me he intended raising funds so that every family in the church would have a filter.  Well, this year we were able to distribute 80 further filters.  As I write this report I have been able to give out 4 more.   We are just about there and believe that another 15 to 20 should cover everyone.   Thanks John for running with that vision.  Not only are we going to have revival, but also a healthy church revival!  See photographs below.

CIUDAD VIEJA – DER WIEDERAUFBAU

Das Herz wurde mir schwer als ich den Schaden begutachtete, den Wirbelsturm Agathe angerichtet hatte. Frauen und Kinder, die auf der Strasse laut weinten, einige, die mit blossen Haenden in Tonnen von Schlamm und Geroell nach ihren Angehoerigen suchten. Christa und ich wussten, dass es Wochen dauern wuerde, diesen auch vorher schon armen Menschen zu helfen. Die Zerstoerung war unglaublich, und wir legten alles in die Haende des Herrn. 
Viele von Euch reagierten sofort auf unseren Aufruf fuer finanzielle Hilfe. Brad Thurston, unser Globe Europe Missionsdirektor, kabelte umgehend eine grosse Spende, um damit sofort mit der Hilfe fuer die Familien unserer Gemeinde zu beginnen, die innerhalb weniger Sekunden ihre Haeuser und all ihr Hab und Gut verloren hatten. Wir konnten ihnen und auch vielen anderen in der Stadt mit Lebensmitteln Kleidung und Decken helfen. Viele uebernachteten in unserer Gemeinde, wo Geschwister halfen, dass sie es so angenehm wie moeglich hatten. Dank Eurer Grosszuegigkeit haben wir bereits 4 Haeuser wieder aufgebaut und 3 weitere sind Arbeit. Der naechste Schritt ist dann Moebel, Betten, Hausrat und Kleidung zu kaufen. Es ist nicht der gesamte Betrag eingegangen, den wir veranschlagt hatten, wer also noch beim Wiederaufbau mithelfen moechte, der ueberweise seine Spende bitte auf das nachstehende Konto, Vermerk: J.Mills-Katastrophenhilfe. Viele, denen Ihr geholfen habt, haben uns gebeten Euch ihren Dank zu weiterzusagen. Moege Gott Euch reichlich segnen! Nachstehend einige Fotos.

PEOPLE BUILDING PEOPLE (Menschen bauen Menschen)

 Bisher waren diese wunderbaren Geschwister aus verschiedenen Gemeinden in den USA immer im August gekommen, um EIN Haus zu bauen. Die Direktoren von People Building People, John und Sue Gadsby vereinbarten aber schon LETZTES JAHR, dieses Mal im Juli zu kommen. Der Zeitpunkt haette perfekter nicht sein koennen, und wir wissen heute, dass es ein von Gott bestimmter Zeitpunkt war. Im Rahmen des Wiederaufbaus nach Wirbelsturm Agathe konnten 27 der Gruppe 2 Haeuser bauen, ein Haus abreissen und gleichzeitig einen medizinischen Einsatz leiten, bei dem in 5 Tagen 600 Menschen medizinische Hilfe bekamen. Ein dritter Teil der Gruppe hielt ausserdem eine Kinderbibelschule ab, and der viele Kinder begeistert jeden Tag teilnahmen. In der 2. Woche kam eine kleine aber kraftvolle Gruppe, die sich auf Evangelisation konzentrierte. Das Ergebnis: 156 Bekehrungen, ja, 156! Ich bin derart begeistert, dass ich das noch einmal schreibe – einhundertsechsundfuenfzig Menschen nahmen Jesus als ihren Herrn und Erloeser an! Es gab mehr Heilungen als ich hier aufzaehlen kann, aber ein zuvor taubes, junges Maedchen kann jetzt hoeren!! Wir nehmen diese Stadt ein fuer Jesus! Wir sind John und Sue Gadsby und ihrer ganzen Gruppe unendlich dankbar!

WILLKOMMEN IM TEAM

Wir begruessen Familie Bedford bei Final Harvest Ministries. Es ist schon seit einiger Zeit unser Gebet gewesen unser Team zu erweitern, da wir glauben, dass es eine maechtige Erweckung in unserer Stadt geben wird. Die Gemeinde brennt fuer Jesus, unsere jungen Leute hunger und duersten nach mehr von Gott. Mit Joe, Karin und ihren 3 Kindern Samuel (Sam), Sarah und Joshua hat der Herr begonnen unser Gebet zu beantworten. Sie sind Globe Europe Missionare, die 6 Jahre lang in Peru dienten, und die hier, obwohl gerade erst angekommen, sofort bei der Katastrophenhilfe mitmachten, sogar noch bevor sie ihre aus Peru angekommenen Kisten auspackten! Ich bin ueberaus beeidruckt Joe, Karin und die Kinder bei der Arbeit zu sehen (sie schafften es tatsaechlich 100 Kinder leise zu halten!), Sarah will bei unserem Tanzteam mitmachen und Sam half beim Hausbau mit – er hat erstaunliche Kraft! Und Joshua… dieser junge Mann ist ein kleiner David! Er hat ueberall mitgeholfen. Und natuerlich git es noch Platz fuer mehr Arbeiter in der Ernte!

MAYDEE – WUNDER GESCHEHEN AUCH HEUTE NOCH!

 Vielen haben schon von Maydee gelesen. Sie tanzt in der Tanzgruppe mit, und sie ist es, die ihre Mutter und Nichte in der Schlammlawine nach Agathe verloren hat. Durch Eure finanzielle Hilfe hat Maydees Vater ausserhalb der Stadt und hoch auf einer Anhoehe sein Haus wieder aufgebaut. Maydee, die half Bausteine den Huegel hinaufzutragen, rutschte dabei aus und verletzte sich ziemlich schlimm den Arm. Am darauffolgenden Sonntag predigte ich in der Gemeinde darueber, dass Jesus auch heute noch heilt, als Maydee am Ende des Gottesdienstes ganz aufgeregt und mit Traenen in den Augen zu mir kam, den Verband vom Arm abmachte und mir zeigte, dass sie in einem Augenblick auf wunderbare Weise geheilt worden war! Alle Spuren von Abschuerfungen und blauen Flecken waren verschwunden! Der Herr ist immer noch auf Seinem Thron – Er hat noch nicht abgedankt! Siehe Fotos.

ECO-FILTER

 Im letzten Jahr, als das People Building People Team hier war, erzaehlte ich John Gadsby, dass ich 10 Eco Filter an verschiedene Familien in unserer Gemeinde verteilt hatte, und was fuer ein Erfolg sie hinsichtlich der Gesundheit der Menschen waren, die nun sauberes Trinkwasser hatten. John fing Feuer und hatte die Vision, dass er die Mittel beschaffen werde, dass jede Familie in der Gemeinde einen solchen Filter haben soll. In diesem Jahr konnten wir 80 weitere Filter ausgeben. Zwischenzeitlich habe ich noch 4 Filter verteilt. Wir haben es fast geschafft, und ich denke mit weiteren 15 – 20 sollte dann jede Familie einen haben. Danke, John, dass du die Vision aufgegriffen hast. Wir warden nicht nur eine Erweckung haben, sondern eine gesunde Gemeide Erweckung. Siehe Fotos.
